The EU AI Act is a major step toward ensuring that AI is used responsibly and transparently across all sectors. It encourages organizations to adopt clear governance, ethical standards, and robust safeguards in their AI systems. By aligning with this regulation, businesses can build trust, reduce risk, and stay ahead of evolving legal and technological expectations.
Non-compliance penalties
Failure to comply with the EU AI Act by August 2026 may result in significant fines of up to €35 million or 7% of global annual turnover for the most severe violations, such as using prohibited AI practices. Other violations, like failing to meet certain obligations, can lead to fines of up to €15 million or 3% of global annual turnover. Fines for providing incorrect information to authorities can reach €7.5 million or 1% of global turnover.
